Attention is paid to the dimensions of governance, market access and sustainability, as well as to legal issues relating to plant breeders’ rights, patents and industrial secrecy in the field of plant varieties.
On the basis of this analysis and in dialogue with the main actors in seed breeding and plant biotechnology applications, the project proceeds to design different alternatives de lege lata and de lege ferenda, and to contrast them with EU experts from other regions of the world (China, USA, South America).
