EU-FRAMES noViolencias

The ninth legislature of the European Parliament ended with two regulatory milestones in the fight against violence against women, one on human trafficking (EU Directive 2024/1712) and the other on violence against women as univocal subjects of protection (EU Directive 2024/1385).

Their new approach and the entry into force of the Istanbul Convention in the EU pave the way to put an end to the fragmented European approach to violence against women. This is the materialisation of European attention ‘to certain forms of violence which disproportionately affect women and which are not sufficiently addressed at national level and which fall within the competence of the EU ’.

At present, and in collaboration with experts from different Spanish universities, a dynamic analysis of this evolution of regulatory frameworks is being carried out by EU-Frames.
